Snatching case worked out; 2 arrested, Rs 16.50 lakh recovered

JAMMU, July 29: Kanachack Police worked out a snatching case of Rs 20 lakh with the arrest of two persons and recovery of Rs 16.50 lakh cash.
As per police sources, a man namely Nikhil Prasher, a resident of District Kathua was lured by four persons on the account of profiting him by doubling and tripling his cash by an equipment (powder).
“These four persons called Nikhil to Malpur area of Kanachack for the deal”, sources said, adding that as soon as Nikhil felt that he has been befooled, the accused managed to snatch Rs 20 lakh cash from him and escape from the spot.
Nikhil brought the matter into the notice of police.
A case under relevant Sections was registered at Police Station Kanachack and hunt was launched to nab the snatchers.
Sensing the gravity of the case, a team from Police Station Kanachack led by SHO Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh was constituted under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
The team after putting in hectic efforts arrested two accused, who were identified as Ashish Langer of Roop Nagar and Suresh Kumar of District Doda.
“Out of snatched Rs 20 lakh, police team recovered Rs 16.50 lakh from the possession of these arrested persons and a car was also seized used in the commission of crime”, sources informed.
Hunt is going on to nab two other accused.
