JAMMU, Apr 15: Students of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) made a strong academic impression at the prestigious “Industry Speaks 2.0” event organized at the Indian Institute of Technology Jammu, where leading voices from industry and academia deliberated on the theme “Powering the Future: AI, Semiconductors and the Next Tech Revolution.”
A contingent of students from the School of Computer Science & Engineering (SCSE), along with faculty members, actively participated in the two-day programme. On the first day, 20 students and faculty attended panel discussions, followed by participation of 13 students and faculty on the second day.
Besides SCSE, representation also came from the School of Electrical Engineering (SOEE), School of Mathematics & Computing (SoMNC), School of Electronics & Communication Engineering (SoECE), and the MSc Data Science programme.
The event brought together experts from top global organizations including AMD, Microsoft, IBM, Samsung, HP, Dell, Birlasoft, ZF Group, Pegasystems, GSPANN, SuzeGA and Agilisium, who shared insights on AI-led careers, semiconductor ecosystems and industry-academia alignment.
Students gained valuable exposure to emerging technological trends and the evolving demands of the job market. Key discussions highlighted the importance of a strong problem-solving mindset, clarity in defining real-world challenges, and the responsible use of AI tools. Experts stressed that while data and resources are increasingly accessible, their effective utilization and deep conceptual understanding remain critical.
