SMVDU organizes program on ‘Clean & Green Energy Technologies’

JAMMU, Feb 13: School of Energy Management, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, organised a one-day awareness program focused on clean and green energy technologies in collaboration with the Department of Science & Technology, JKSTIC, Udhampur.
The primary objective of this initiative was to educate individuals and communities about the latest advancements and innovations in clean energy technologies, with a specific emphasis on their role in mitigating climate change and promoting a more sustainable future.
In his keynote address, Prof Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor SMVDU, highlighted the steps taken by the university in organizing high quality awareness programmes, workshops and conferences. He stressed that such events help in broadening the knowledge base of the participants.
Shruti Khanna, District Coordinator JKSTIC, highlighted the major initiatives and activities undertaken by DST, J&K. She expressed the event’s objective to encourage the young minds across and hoped they would be role models with a particular emphasis on promoting Green Energy for Sustainable Development.
Dr Ankit Tyagi, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Jammu, laid emphasis on super capacitors for electric vehicles. He stressed on the new advancements in materials for reliability of electric vehicles.
Arjun Maini, Managing Director, Maini Industries, Jammu, delivered a lecture on the aspect of clean energy and its environmental benefits as part of a global energy future.
Himanshu Malpotra, Assistant Manager, GERMI deliberated on policy and regulatory framework. He discussed various Govt Policies regarding Solar Rooftop power plants.
Dr Vineet Veer Tyagi, Head, School of Energy Management and Dean R&D, highlighted the initiatives taken by School of Energy Management for climate change mitigation.
Dr Sanjeev Anand, Associate Dean R&D and Coordinator of the programme, explained about the schedule of the awareness programme and stressed upon the need for the same.
Dr Yatheshth Anand, Assistant Professor, and coordinator of the workshop also spoke on the occasion. The formal vote of thanks was delivered by Navin Gupta, Assistant Professor, School of Architecture and Landscape Design, SMVDU.
