SMVDU celebrates Indian Philosopher’s Day

KATRA, May 9: One-day regional seminar on ‘Indian Value System: Contemporary Relevance’ was organized by the School of Philosophy & Culture at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, to celebrate Indian Philosopher’s Day 2019.
The Indian Philosopher’s Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Adi Shankaracharya on Panchami tithi of Vaishakh Shukla Paksha. The program was sponsored by the Indian Council of Philosophical Research, New Delhi.
The event started with the inaugural session, wherein Prof Rajeev Garg, Director, DQA was the chief guest and Prof. Kiran Bakshi, Jammu; Dr. Anil Kumar Tewari, Head, SoPC and Dr Amitabh Vikram Dwivedi, Head, SoL&L were the guests of honour.
During the technical sessions, chaired by Prof Bakshi, Dr Bhupender Heera, Dr Mahesh Kaul, . Ruby Bharati, Reena Kumari among others presented their papers on the theme. The event was attended by Dr Saurabh, Head School of Business, Anil Bharadwaj, Dr Rashi Taggar, Dr Kritti, Dr Rakesh Thusoo, Dr Anurag Kumar and some teachers from Higher-Secondary School, Panthal, along with the research scholars, MA students and staff members of School of Philosophy & Culture as well as the School of Languages and Literature.
The event concluded with the distribution of certificates among the participants.
