KISHTWAR, Apr 24: Police here today arrested a notorious drug smuggler from Sarkoot area and recovered three gram heroin from his possession.
On specific information and leads, Kishtwar Police laid special Nakas at Sarkoot under the supervision of Inspector Abid Bukhari, SHO Police Station Kishtwar and under directions of Dy.SP Hqrs, Ashish Gupta and a drug smuggler was arrested with heroin like substance weighing three gram.
The arrested smuggler was identified as Rameez Raja, son of Ab. Qayoom, resident of Sarkoot, Kishtwar.
A case in FIR No. 87/2023 has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar in this regard under relevant sections of law and investigation was taken up.
SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal has appealed to the general public to help police in fight against drugs.
