SMC claims to have de-watered Srinagar

Srinagar, Apr 8:  The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) today claimed to have de-watered the areas in the city which have been submerged in rainwater.
A spokesperson of the civic body said that it has pressed into service both the mobile and stationed pumps across the city and at the vulnerable points to flush out the water.
SMC was slammed for failing to drain rainwater which had submerged most of the city roads and some localities.
The busy road at Kashmir Haat near Jahangir Chowk was fully submerged with water.
The SMC said it has 75 pumping stations in place and all the catchment areas have been drained off.
