Samba, Dec 13: The district administration in collaboration with District Employment and Counseling Centre today organized a Employment Fair at village Ramgarh in the premises of Vimal Muni College of Education for educating the general public especially the unemployed youth about the self employment schemes being launched by various departments like Employment, DIC, Rural Development, KVIB, KVIC, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry etc.
Various departments of Samba district put up their stalls for highlighting their respective activities and also displayed the finished goods products in the Employment Fair.
The fair was inaugurated by MLA, Vijaypur Surjeet Singh Slathia.
While speaking on the occasion Mr. Slathia called upon the unemployed youth to avail the benefits of such schemes by starting their own ventures.
He said that such programmes besides encouraging the youth for setting up their income generating units help in developing cordial relationship between the departments and local representatives.
He said in this regard Government is providing loans on low rate interest besides also on subsidy basis so that the unemployed youth could easily start their own units and earn day-to-day livelihood.
The District Development Commissioner, Samba, R.K Varma while addressing the gathering highlighted the objectives of the Employment Fair. He called for a change in the mind set of the unemployed youth towards entrepreneurship to become job providers instead of job seekers.
Among others, Joint Director Employment Manisha Sareen besides district officers, students and un-employed youth in large numbers attended the fair and gain knowledge of State and Centrally sponsored schemes for their benefit.
