SRINAGAR, Oct 27: SKUAST-K Scientists & Teachers Association (SSTA) body today demanded revocation of the recent transfer of the office bearers of the SSTA while terming them ‘vindictive’.
The issue was raised by the association with the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-K, Professor Mushtaq Ahmad.
The delegation which met the VC was led by the President SSTA, Prof. S. A. Dar.
The President, SSTA enlightened the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor about the recent symbolic protest observed by the scientist fraternity under the banner of the SSTA and the coercive measures taken by the university administration to muzzle the genuine voice of the association.
He appealed for the immediate revocation of the recent orders issued by the University Administration where the scientists were transferred in haste and as a reaction to the symbolic protest held.
“Through various media outlets the LG who is also the Chancellor, SKUAST-K has been kind enough to rescind the recent transfer orders issued by Administration in haste and the said orders be immediately revoked for the orders issued are vindictive in nature and were done just to muzzle the whistleblowers” President SSTA, Prof. S.A Dar informed the Vice-Chancellor
Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-K on the occasion promised the association all the possible help within the ambit of university norms. “The Teaching Association has an important role to play for the overall development and growth of the university and we must help the administration to help grow the university,” the Vice-Chancellor said.
“All the genuine demands raised by the Association will be reviewed and ameliorated in a time-bound manner” he added
On the occasion, Prof. A.M Ganai, Head Animal Nutrition Division was inducted as the Co-opted member of the Executive Body of the Association.
