JAMMU, Sept 23: Division of Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex (TVCC) and Veterinary Surgery and Radiology of Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, R S Pura SKUAST-Jammu, have jointly organizing 4- day Virtual Training Programme on topic ‘Diagnosis and management of common surgical infections of bovines’.
A total of 354 candidates from across the country have got themselves registered with the training programme, which started yesterday. The training programme is being conducted through online platform of Zoom meeting and live broadcast on You Tube.
At the outset, Dean, F V Sc and A H and Chairman of the training programme, Prof (Dr) M S Bhadwal, highlighted the importance of such practical oriented online training programme for field veterinarians and private clinicians involved in treatment of bovines at the time when physical trainings are not possible. Dr Bhadwal further said that such training should be done on regular basis so that techniques and knowledge should spread to the practising vets of the Jammu region.
Earlier, Dr J S Soodan, Prof and Head TVCC & co-chairman of the training programme, gave brief introduction of the training and spoke in detail about the utility of this training to the Veterinary Assistant Surgeons of Jammu region and passed out veterinary graduates and post-graduates. He hoped that the training programme will definitely enhance the knowledge about surgical affections of bovines and the trainees will use the techniques learnt from the training in the field condition. Thus they may avoid in future, referring of the cases of small surgical procedure to TVCC, FV Sc and A H.
On first day, two lectures were delivered. Dr R B Kushwaha, Assistant Professor, TVCC delivered lecture on the topic ‘Obstructive urolithiasis and its management with particular reference to tube cystotomy in calves, whereas, Dr Pankaj Gupta, Assistant Professor, Division of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology delivered lecture on topic `Basic of radiography and USG in veterinary practice’.
Organizing Secretary, Dr R B Kushwaha is being assisted by Co-organizing Secretaries Dr D K Dwivedi and Dr Sharad Kumar and technical Secretary Dr Pankaj Gupta, Publication Secretary Dr Ankur Sharma for smooth conduct of the programme. Dr A K Gupta, Professor, Division of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology and Co-chairman delivered vote of thanks.
