JAMMU, Sept 21: SKUAST Jammu here signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Western Sydney University (WSU) to formalize their commitment to strengthen academic collaboration and promote knowledge exchange between the two institutions.
Dr. B.N Tripathi, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST Jammu signed the MoU at a ceremony in New Delhi outlining a strategic partnership that will facilitate various avenues of cooperation.
WSU was represented by its Vice Chancellor & President, Professor Barney Glover. WSU is number one University in the world for the second year as per the Time Higher Education Impact Rankings. It is a renowned academic institution known for its contributions to research, innovation and development of future leaders.
The signing of this MoU marks the beginning of a new chapter in the academic journey of SKUAST-J with aim of advancing knowledge, fostering innovation and creating global citizens who are prepared to address challenges of the future.
The MoU will pursue joint academic programmes such as the dual degree/sandwich programmes, student internships and student exchange programmes.
Focus will also be on research collaborations in areas of mutual interest encompassing agriculture, veterinary and allied sectors.
Dr. B.N Tripathi expressed that such MoUs with top world Universities will help SKUAST-J grow at both national and international levels, while providing enhanced opportunities to its students and faculty members.
SKUAST-J was also represented by Dr. B.C Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture; Dr. S.K Gupta, Registrar and Dr. Vikas Sharma, Coordinator IDP-NAHEP Project at MoU signing event.
The MoU was facilitated by NAHEP project operational at SKUAST-J.
