NEW DELHI, Dec 1: Sampooran Kashmir Sanghattan (SKS) today reiterated its demand regarding permanent rehabilitation of over seven lakh displaced Pandits hounded out from their homeland Kashmir in 1989-90 under a conspiracy by fundamentalist forces supported by Pakistan.
The demand was made in a Core Committee meeting of SKS here, today held under the leadership of its chairman Anoop Koul. The meeting among others was also attended by its president Rakesh Kaul and Bharat Kachroo national secretary.
The meeting threat bare discussed the issues confronted by the displaced Pandits leading an exiled life for over last 27 years now in Jammu and other parts of country and expressed its dismay over the harassment meted by the community through the hands of Relief Department. It questioned the oft repeated orders being issued by the Department asking the displaced people to produce the proofs and said that for last 27 years they have submitted such proofs to the organization hundreds of times and the fresh orders issued by the organization is nothing except a ploy to harass the members of the community.
The meeting said demanding Aadhar cards for verification is totally unjustified as majority of the community members have not been issued the same. Moreover, the community members in exile have no permanent address which they can reveal in their Aadhar cards. It demanded that such conditions be immediately withdrawn.
The meeting while extending full support to demonetization move of Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the crusade launched by him against the black money has started paying dividends with lakhs of crores of money being deposited in banks and it has sent shivers to black money hoarders.
It has also proved effective in containing supply of fake money and funds to terrorists and naxalites.
The meting however demanded nationalization of all banks in the country including the J&K to make demonetization process totally successful and functioning in banks foolproof.
The meeting while expressing its solidarity with POK refugees termed the decision of Government to grant Rs 2000 crore package to these hapless people a step in right direction. It also demanded that on the same analogy the Government should sanction one time settlement package for displaced Pandits.
