JAMMU, June 7: Shri Vishwakarma Skill University in collaboration with Helpline
Humanity a local NGO, goes all out for the propagation of Skill India mission of the country.
In this regard a sustained awareness campaign was launched by the team of Helpline Humanity and Dr. Daleep Raina of Shri Vishwakarma Skilll University, Haryana in various places at Jammu. Hundreds of aspirants attended the counseling session at Jagti, Nagrota, Mishriwala, Domana and Muthi.
The aspirants along with the parents were apprised by Dr Daleep Raina that the only Skill University in India is run by Government and is mapped with National Skill Qualification Framework that facilitates upward mobility from Certificate to Doctoral level. The university has devised customized certificate, Diploma and Graduation programmes that are offered through an integrated work and study model. Forty percent of the syllabus is class room and sixty percent is on the job with the business partners of the University, he added.
Dr Raina said most of the disciplines are on the basis of earning while learning ranging from Rs.9000/- per month to Rs.25000/- .Moreover this education system is heavily subsidised and costs around one fourth of a B.Tech Degree. He further apprised that the students once completing the program become employable as well as can start their own venture being a skilled person with on the job learning experience.
This awareness program was appreciated by all the parents, students and the social activists, some of the participants desired that the university should have a regular Awareness Camps in Jammu so that the unemployed youth and desirous can avail the facility.
M.K. Bhat, president , Helpline Humanity assured the public that his organization is trying to have a permanent Counseling cum Skill Centre at Jagti. He also apprised that the NGO is also providing free of cost text books to the deserving and has opened a free public library and Study centre ( Mata Sarswati Pustakalya) along with computer centre for the students for preparation of various competitive exams. The program was also attended by Col. G.K.Raina and B.L.Jalali, both directors of the Helpline Humanity.
