SRINAGAR, Oct 26: State Judicial Academy (SJA) organized oath taking ceremony and lecture on ‘Professional Ethics and Conduct’ for newly enrolled advocates of Kashmir at High Court complex here today.
The function was held under the guidance and instructions of Chief Justice, Justice N. Paul Vasanthakumar, who is also patron SJA, and Committee of Judges comprising Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar and Justice Janak Raj Kotwal.
Speaking on the occasion, Director SJA, Abdul Rashid Malik, said that administering oath to the newly enrolled Advocates means that they have an enormous responsibility upon their shoulder as the profession of law is the profession of service to the society.
As many as 115 Advocates took oath and received enrolment certificates after the oath ceremony.
In his address, Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar emphasized upon the virtues and professional ethics of the legal profession and deliberated upon the fundamentals of the profession.
Deliberating upon the various facets of the legal profession, Justice Janak Raj Kotwal said that the society holds the legal profession in high esteem as the Advocate is an officer of the court. He said the knowledge of law, commitment to the ideals of the profession, honesty and dedication is the strength of any successful lawyer.
