Six years RI to accused facing trial for last 12 yrs

JAMMU, Sept 19: Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu, SR Gandhi today awarded six years rigorous imprisonment to one Rocky Singh of Kullian and one year imprisonment to his father namely Himmat Singh, who were facing trial for the last 12 years.
According to the police case, on August 27, 2001 the accused persons, who were having old enmity with the complainant Naresh Kumar, trespassed latter’s house with criminal intention and inflicted a blow with kirch.
On this, Police registered a case under Section 452/324 RPC and after completion of the investigation presented challan in the court of law.
After hearing CPO Sanjay Kohli with Senior PO Rajeshwar Basotra for the State, CJM observed, “it is proved beyond all reasonable doubts that the accused persons with common intention trespassed in the house of complainant and attacked him with kirch”.
Accordingly, Court awarded six years RI to Rocky Singh and one year RI to Himmat Singh.
