Six persons arrested with illicit liquor

JAMMU, May 25: Digiana, Nehru Market, Khour and GRP Jammu arrested six persons along with illicit liquor.
As per police sources, a team from Police Post Digiana led by SI Tarsem Raj under the supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Bharat Sharma laid a naka and intercepted a motorcycle.
During checking, police team recovered 6 bottles of illicit liquor from the possession of the rider and his associate and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Gourav Sharma, son of Ashok Sharma of Digiana District Jammu and Harpreet Singh, son of Kamaljeet Singh of Deshmesh Nagar Digiana District Jammu.
Meanwhile, a team from Nehru Market Police Post led by SI Rohit Gandhi under the supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Bharat Sharma apprehended a man along with 18 bottles of illicit liquor.
The arrested person was identified as Subash Kumar, son of Pyaru of Mangoli District Udhampur.
Cases under FIR Numbers 166/2021 and 167/2021 under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
However, a team from Police Station Khour led by SHO Inspector Balvinder Singh arrested two persons along with 6 bottles of illicit liquor and Rs 16,750 cash.
The arrested persons were identified as Rajat Manhas, son of Sukhdev Singh and Yash Pal, son of Parkash Chand, both residents of Hamirpur.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Khour and investigation started.
In another similar case, officials of Government Railway Police (GRP) Jammu while performing patrolling duties at Railway Station Jammu arrested one person namely Ravi Kumar, son of Munna Lal of Gujarat, at present Sector Number 5 Trikuta Nagar Jammu with 170 bottles of illicit liquor.
A case under FIR Number 5/2021 under Section 50 Excise Act was registered at Police Station GRP Jammu and investigation started.
