UDHAMPUR, Aug 18: Six family members were injured when a Maruti Car, in which they were traveling, skidded off the road and turned turtle at Garnai near by pass Rehambal, here today.
The Maruti car, bearing registration number JK02A-0066, was on its way from Jammu to Ramnagar when it met with the accident. Police and locals rushed to the spot and took the injured persons to Udhampur District Hospital.
The injured were identified as Pawan Kumar (39) son of Mool Raj of Ban Talab Jammu, his wife Darshana Devi (34), their two daughters Nisha Devi (16) and Minakshi Devi (13), 11 year old son Mukesh Sharma and Pawan Kumar’s brother Surinder Kumar (37).
Condition of all the injured was stated to be stable and out of danger
Meanwhile, a 23-year old youth attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence in Rathian, late last night. Identified as Prince Sharma, son of Gopal Sharma of Rathian, the youth was brought to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors washed his stomach repeatedly. He was responding to the treatment till last reports came in.
Cause behind the provocation could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
