Six injured in road accidents

JAMMU, June 17: Six persons were injured today in two separate road accidents in this winter capital of the State.
According to a police official, an auto bearing registration number JK02AQ-5508, which was being driven in a rash and negligent manner by a man identified as Rakesh Kumar son of OP Sharma, resident of Gandhi Nagar, hit two pedestrians near Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu this afternoon.
He said in the mishap, both the pedestrians namely Diganber Yadav (30) son of Guna Yadav and Yudishter Mandal son of Bukiti Mandal, both residents of Kolkata, as well as auto driver got injured as the auto turned turtle after hitting the pedestrians. All the injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment.
Another road mishap occurred at Bakshi Nagar, where a car hit a bike and injured its rider Kunju Ram (45) son of late Gulabo Ram of Gole Panj Pir, Talab Tillo and pillion riders, Sonia wife of Kunju Ram and Pihu, their 3-year-old daughter. The injured persons were hospitalized.
In both cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance.
