Six held for gambling in RS Pura; Rs 26,195 seized

JAMMU, Mar 9: Six individuals have been arrested by the police for their alleged involvement in illegal gambling at Seer Balah area under the jurisdiction of Police Station RS Pura.
A police official said that acting on specific information, a police team carried out a raid at Village Seer Balah and caught six individuals while gambling.
The accused were identified as Ashok Kumar of Chak Bakhtawar, Gurmeet Singh and Lekh Raj of Chak Mohammad Yar, and Deep Singh, Bhopinder Singh and Rashpal Singh of Balah.
The police official said that an amount of Rs 26, 195 and two sets of playing cards were also seized during the raid.
Accordingly, he said, a case under section 13 of the Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation taken up.
Pertinently, the raid was conducted by a team led by PSI Affan Nazir under the supervision of SHO RS Pura.
