UDHAMPUR, Oct 10: Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling at Tikri, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Rehambal and rescued six bovines, which were being smuggled in a vehicle to Kashmir.

The vehicle, Tata Yodha bearing registration number JK14J-1578 and coming from Jammu side towards Udhampur, was intercepted by a Police team of PP Tikri at naka point. During checking, the vehicle was found loaded with six bovine animals being transported illegally without any valid permission.
Police rescued all the animals and arrested the driver, identified as Mohd.Younis, son of Mohd Bhutoo, resident of Karwa, Kotli Maitrian, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi.
The vehicle was also seized and a case FIR number 162/2025 U/S 223 BNS & 11 PCA Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Rehambal.
