Six absconders arrested by Rajouri police

RAJOURI, June 1: In a crackdown, police today arrested six absconders who were evading their arrest for the past several years.
As per police sources, to arrest the absconders, a police team from Rajouri Police Station headed by SHO Yashpal Jamwal was constituted by SSP Rajouri Mubassir Latifi, which conducted raids and arrested six absconders wanted in different cases.
The accused have been identified as Mohammad Farooq, son of Abdul Majid, a resident of Jamola wanted in FIR number 13/2005 under Section 325, 336, 452, 147 and 307 RPC, Assad Parvaiz, son of Shamsheer Hussain, a resident of Badhoon wanted in FIR number 325/2006 under Section 325/34 RPC, Shabir Ahmed, son of Abdul Aziz, a resident of Kheora wanted in FIR number 12/2005 under Section 3/7 ECA Act, Umar Zaman, son of Mohammad Khan, a resident of Sankari wanted in FIR number 14/2007 under Section 447, 147, 323 RPC, Mohammad Sadiq and Mohammad Iqbal, sons of Lal Din, a resident of Chawa wanted in FIR number 68/2001 under Section 447A, 427, 34 RPC.
Beside this forty persons have been challaned by police in several areas of
Rajouri town for violation of COTPA act. Teams under the supervision of SHO Yashpal Jamwal found forty persons smoking in public places and were challaned under the Act.
Meanwhile, during a surprise traffic naka in Rajouri town, police challaned sixteen vehicles in violation of traffic norms.
