SIT to probe murder of Uri Gym trainer

SRINAGAR, Dec 20: Police has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the murder of a Gym trainer at Uri in North Kashmir’s district of Baramulla.
The SIT was constituted a day after a complete shutdown was observed on Wednesday in many parts of Uri, demanding a thorough investigation into the murder case.
A police official today said the SIT headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Headquarters Syed Javid has been constituted to investigate the murder of the youth. “The team has initiated investigation and is questioning suspects into the murder of the youth, identified as 25-year-old Azam Nazir Khan, a resident of Arunbua Boniyar, Uri,” he said.
“Other members of the SIT are Prosecuting Officer Baramulla Aarif Majid, Sub Inspectors (SIs) Mohammad Shafi and Farooq Ahmad, Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASIs) Syed Ashiq and Tariq Ahmad and Selection Grade Constable Shabir Ahmad,” he added.
The body of Khan, who was missing since December 13, was found hanging from a ceiling of a building in Azad Gunj Baramulla on Tuesday. He said the body of the youth, who was working as Gym trainer at Hulk Gym center in Baramulla, had visible injury marks.
