SIT constituted to investigate 12 kgs heroin, Rs 11 lakh cash recovery case

*Arrested accused remanded to 10 days police custody

JAMMU, July 27: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to investigate a case in which three persons were arrested along with heroin worth Rs 24 crore and Rs 11 lakh cash.
As per police sources, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by SP South Mamta Sharma has been constituted to carry out further investigation into a 12 kilograms heroin and Rs 11 lakh cash recovery case registered at Police Station Bahu Fort yesterday.
As reported, on specific information a team from Police Station Bahu Fort led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari, SP South Mamta Sharma and SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli laid a naka and intercepted a Verna car bearing registration number PB02CQ-7749.
During checking, police team recovered 12 kilograms heroin worth Rs 24 crore in the international market and Rs 11 lakh cash and arrested three persons travelling in the car.
The arrested persons were identified as Sarvwan Singh, son of Kala Singh, Malkeet Singh, son of Gurmeet Singh and Balbir Singh, son of Balbinder Singh, all residents of Amritsar Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 197/2022 under section 8/21/22/27/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
However, the arrested three persons in the case have been remanded to 10 days police custody.
