Sinha led delegation arrives

Srinagar, Dec 10:  A three-member delegation, led by former Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Yashwant Sinha today arrived in Srinagar for holding meetings with a cross section of people including separatist leaders.
Soon after their arrival, they went to Budgam to meet the president J&K Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian and senior Hurriyat Conference leader Aga Syed Hassan Almosvi Alsafvi. They held close door meeting with the Hurriyat leader.
The delegation later met Civil Society member and noted pediatrician Dr Altaf Hussain and noted Human Rights activist Khurram Parvez who was recently released.
The delegation is meeting Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik and will visit to various parts of Kashmir to meet a cross section of people.
Sinha is accompanied by journalist Bharat Bhushan and Sushobha Barve from Centre for Dialogue and Reconciliation. Former bureaucrat Wajahat Habibullah is arriving tomorrow and two other members retired Air Vice-Marshal Kapil Kak and senior Congress leader Manish Tiwari are joining them in a couple of days.
”The conversation took place in a cordial atmosphere. We talked about the current situation and the way forward. I laid stress on the dialogue process and urged upon the delegation to impress upon the Government of India to engage Pakistan and stake holders from State for holding the dialogue,” Agha said here.
