JAMMU, Aug 8: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
“It was a courtesy call as Murmu was elected new President of the country last month,” sources said.
During the meeting, Sinha congratulated Droupadi Murmu on her election as President and also talked about Jammu and Kashmir and other subjects.
The Lieutenant Governor had gone to New Delhi yesterday during which he also attended NITI Aayog’s seventh Governing Council meeting which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Sinha kept view point of Jammu and Kashmir in the NITI Aayog’s meeting which was also attended by many Union Minister, Chief Ministers of States and Lieutenant Governors of the Union Territories.
Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Radha Krishna Mathur too attended the NITI Aayog meeting and projected the issues of the Union Territory.
Meanwhile, many Union Ministers and other dignitaries also called on the President.
All the visits were mostly courtesy calls to congratulate Droupadi Murmu on her election.
Union Minister for Labour, Employment and Environment, Forest & Climate Change Bhupender Yadav also called on the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest & Climate Change Ashwini Kumar Choubey too met Droupadi Murmu and congratulated her on being elected as the new President of India.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami, Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Renuka Singh Saruta, Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment Rameshwar Teli and Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Island Admiral DK Joshi also called on the President of India separately.
