Silver futures gain on global cues

NEW DELHI, June 8:  Silver prices moved up Rs 169 to Rs 37,179 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions amid higher global trend.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July gained Rs 169, to Rs 37,179 per kg in a business turnover of 2,609 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in September moved up by Rs 136 to Rs 37,730 per kg in 79 lots.
Analysts said speculators created fresh positions in step with a firming global trend, pushing silver prices up in futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver was trading higher at USD 16.12 an ounce in Singapore, from USD 16.11 on Friday. (PTI)
