NEW DELHI, Oct 7: Tracking firming trend in global market, silver prices spurted Rs 86 to Rs 38,157 per kg in futures trade today, as participants enlarged positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month March next year was trading higher by Rs 86, or 0.23 per cent, at Rs 38,157 per kg in a business turnover of four lots.
Also, the white metal for delivery in December gained Rs 32, or 0.09 per cent, to Rs 37,365 per kg in 715 lots.
In the international market, silver added 0.1 per cent to USD 15.90 an ounce in Singapore after touching USD 16.09 in yesterday’s trade, the highest level since June 23.
Market analysts said a firming trend in global market as prospects dimmed for a US interest rate increase this year, boosting the precious metals allure and weakened dollar, mainly influenced silver futures here. (PTI)
