Sikhs demand release of political prisoners

Srinagar, July 27: Sikhs today demanded the release of their political prisoners lodged in different jails of the country.
Under the banner of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa Sangrash Committee, the Sikhs appeared in Press Enclave here, a group of Sikh protesters staged protest in support of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa who is on “hunger strike since this January”.
The protesters said that Bapu Surat is on hunger strike in order to seek release of Sikh political prisoners who have completed their sentences.
“We strongly condemn the police action of taking Bapu Surat forcibly to hospital. We demand release of all political prisoners,” the protesters said.
