‘Sikh Panth De Mahan Jarnail’ in Punjabi released

JAMMU, May 10: Based on the history of medieval India, a book in Punjabi titled ‘Sikh Panth De Mahan Jarnail’ written by Late Darshan Kaur was released in an impressive function at Gurdwara Baba Fateh Singh, Gandhi Nagar (Jammu).
The book was released by Rajesh Gupta, MLA Jammu East. Rangil Singh, chairman, MBS College of Engneering and Technology, Babliana, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, additional secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Matinder Singh, son of author of the book and Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik, president, Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Jammu, were present on the occasion.
While speaking Rajesh Gupta said that Darshan Kaur was well reputed and legendary personality of the area who had contributed whole life in serving the needy people, women folk and bringing awareness among the youth about drugs and other social evils.
Rangil Singh, while delivering his address said that Darshan Kaur has done a tremendous job for humanity by writing such a relevant historical book ‘Sikh Panth De Mahan Jarnail’ covering the medieval period of India in which the contribution of Sikh Jarnails to free the humanity from the clutches of foreign ruler and provided the common man an environment to live with love and brotherhood.
Earlier while speaking, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn said that Darshan Kaur was multi faceted personality. She was social activist, very popular teacher, reputed writer and custodian of women. While appreciating her contribution as writer, he further said that this book will bridge the gap of young generation and enlighten them with the contribution of Sikh Jarnails in discovering the democratic India.
Dr Monojit and Kanwal Kashmiri also spoke and paid their homage to the departed soul.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik and vote of thanks was presented by Matinder Singh.
Among others present were Chand Deepika, Popinder Singh, Tejinder Singh Premee, president, Manoranjan Kala Kendra, Jammu.
