Sikh organizations demand arrest of culprits behind Bargadi sacrilege act

JAMMU, June 14: Sikh organizations of Jammu and Kashmir today demanded the arrest of culprits behind ‘beadbi’ (sacrilege) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in Bargadi, Punjab.
In a joint press conference of Sikh organizations of the State called under the banner of District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu, Shiromani Akali Dal Badal J&K, Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar J&K, Sikh Student Federation International, Sikh Intellectual Circle Jammu and All India Sikh Student Federation, the Sikh leaders stood in the support of Insaaf Morcha which is going on in Bargadi Kotakpura (Punjab) regarding the beadbi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in Bargadi.
All the organizations endorsed the genuine demands of Khalsa Panth i.e. arrest of culprits behind the sacrilege (beadbi) at Behbal Kalah, investigation of Punjab Police firing at Bargadi over peaceful protest of Sikh Sangat at Bargadi one, release of Sikhs behind the bars who have completed their conviction period since long and transfer of others in Punjab jails. The Sikh leaders also demanded release of Ansari Commission Report by J&K Government for killing of innocent Sikhs in 1989 during the Nagar Kirtan.
Those who were present in the meeting were Jagjit Singh (president, DGPC Jammu), Kuldeep Singh (vice president, DGPC Jammu), Avtar Singh Khalsa (general secretary, DGPC), Mohinder Singh (joint secretary, DGPC), Manmohan Singh (cashier, DGPC), Mohinder Singh (member, DGPC and president, Shiromani Akali Dal Badal J&K) and all other DGPC members, Bhai Gurdev Singh (president, Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar), Balwant Singh, Ram Singh, Narinder Singh Khalsa, Surjit Singh, Ajeet Singh, Harmanan Singh and Mankamal Singh.
It was also decided that a Jatha of Sikh Sangat from Jammu will also join the Insaaf Morcha, Bargadi soon to support the genuine demands of Sikh Sangat.
