SAMBA, June 14: A police party of PS Samba headed by Inspector, Chanchal Singh, SHO Samba under the close supervision of Deepak Digra, DySP Headquarters Samba during surprise Naka at Mansar Morh Samba, intercepted a motorcycle without registration number which was coming from Jammu side. During checking 05 gram of heroin was recovered from the possession of motorcyclist who has been identified as Mohammad Yusuf, S/o Lal Hussain, R/o Manohar Gopala, Samba. The drug peddler was arrested on the spot along with contraband item. The motorcycle was also seized on the spot.
In this regard a case FIR No. 173/2018 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS ACT has been registered in P/S Samba and investigation started.
The surprise nakas in the district at various places have been laid on the directions of SSP Samba Anil Magotra which yielded fruitful results, police said.
Meanwhile, District Police Samba arrested one bootlegger and recovered 30 bottles of illicit liquor.
According to reports, a police party of PS Samba headed by Inspector Chanchal Singh, SHO Samba under the close supervision of Deepak Digra, DySP Hqrs Samba, laid a surprise naka near Bus Stand Sumb road and intercepted one person on suspicious ground.
During frisking, 30 bottles of illicit liquor of 750 ml each were recovered from his possession. The accused person identified as Ramesh Kumar, S/o Ranja Ram, R/o Patyari, Samba was arrested and illicit liquor was also seized on the spot. In this regard a case FIR No. 172/2018 U/S 48-F Excise Act has been registered in P/S Samba and investigation started.
