550th Parkash Purab celebrations on Nov 12

JAMMU, Nov 5: In connection with the 550th Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the State Gurdwara Parbandhak Board and District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu have decided to organize a grand ‘Nagar Kirtan’ on November 9.
Talking to media-persons here today, Chairman of State Gurdwara Parbandhak Board, TS Wazir ( Ex-MLC) said that the Nagar- Kirtan is being organized by the DGPC Jammu, SGPB along with other various social and religious organisations under the patronage of Mahant Manjit Singh Ji of Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch and Sant Tejwant Singh Ji, head priest (Dera Mukhi), Dera Santpura Danna, Jammu. Wazir said this being 550th Parkash Purab of great Guru, there is great enthusiasm among the Sangat the world over as such occasions come hardly once in life time. A large number of people are expected to participate in this grand religious programme in Jammu. Adequate arrangements have been made for the conduct of smooth function.
Elaborating further, Wazir said that religious procession will start from Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Chand Nagar (Gumat) at 10 am on Saturday (Nov 9) and will culminate at Nanak Nagar Gurdwara at 5 pm. It will pass through Dogra Chowk, Tawi Bridge, Bikram Chowk, Asia Crossing, Green Belt Park, Gandhi Nagar Hospital, Gole Market, Shiva Ji Chowk and then culminate at Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Nanak Nagar, Jammu.
Wazir and other DGPC members have appealed the Sikh Sagat and general public to participate in large number in this grand religious programme. He said the Parkash Purab will be celebrated on November 12 at Chand Nagar Gurdwara from 10 am to 4.30 pm. He said prominent poets Bibi Davinder Kour, Bhai Sulakhan Singh, Bhai Balbir Singh Bal of Morinda, Bhai Bhupinder Singh, Bibi Jatinder Kour from Anandpur Sahib and Bhai Balbir Singh Kamal of Dasuya will be the part of programme. Religious preachers from various parts of the country will also be participating in this grand religious programme.
Wazir was accompanied by DGPC members -Fateh Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Ramneek Singh, Mohinder Singh, Raja Singh, Jathedar Mohinder Singh; N S Khalsa -chairman SIC, Surinder Singh Wazir and others.
