Sikh bodies launch campaign to strengthen community

JAMMU, Mar 26:  As a part of their campaign to strengthen the community and discuss their burning issues,  various Sikh organizations held a special meeting at Udhampur today.
The one day meeting was held in the premises of Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha,    DGPC Hqrs Udhampur, under the chairmanship of Dyal Singh Wazir,  president Sharomani Akali Dal J&K, along with various Sikh organizations of J&K including Sikh United Front, Bhai Kanhiya Nishkam Sewa Society, AISSF, Sikh Naujawan Sabha, Sikh Welfare Society and some members of DGPC Jammu  including Amrik Singh,  Darbinder Singh, Ramnik Singh, Fateh Singh, Raja Singh besides   Surinder Singh Kala convenor J&K Motor Transport Companies Association Jammu.
The meeting was organized under the directions of  Mahant Manjit Singh Ji of Sheromani Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch to bring the unity among the Sikh masses and build the Sikh organizations strong at grass root level, so that long pending issues and problems faced by the Sikh community be solved. It was stressed that  Sikh organizations should be reorganized from block level to district levels and to province and state level.
The participants unanimously passed a resolution and appealed the Sikh community to remain united at one platform to fight and achieve the goal. All the  speakers  cautioned the community youth to stay away from drugs.
The prominent community members from Udhampur who participated and expressed their views in the meeting includded Satvinder Singh president, DGPC Udhampur,  Ranjit Singh vice president,  Nardeep Singh- secretary,  Jaswinder Singh- cashier, Gurmeet Singh Josh -joint secretary,  Bhupinder Singh, Surjit Singh, Harpreet  Singh,  Chakar Kour Singh, Members DGPC Udhampur,  Amar Singh- Ex-president, Charan Singh, Janak Singh Dutta,  Ujjagar Singh and Mohan Singh Bagi.
