Jammu, Mar 28: The Morning Walkers at Green Belt Park Gandhi Nagar, with the first ray of sunlight in the serene environment of park were sensitized in a unique initiative launched under SVEEP by District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Jammu Ajeet K. Sahu, about the importance of exercising “Right to Vote”.
The tag line for the Campaign is, “Worried about your health….! What about Nations Health…….!” and the same is making a direct impact on the general public. A short play titled “Humara Farz” by theatre group “Rangyug” which is of 20 minute. duration in a very logical manner is conveying the message of importance of participation in the election process, the feature of urban apathy and ethical voting.
The timings of the poll which are from 7 am to 6 pm were also highlighted in the play. The morning walkers after witnessing the play signed the Pledge that they will exercise their “Right to Vote” on April 10, 2014.
This Campaign by the SVEEP Team of District Jammu will go on at all the major locations of the city, where the Citizens prefer their morning walk, and at all the locations the SVEEP team comprising of officers viz K.K.Sidha, ACD Jammu Nodal Officer SVEEP, Jammu, M.L. Tasir and Wasim Raja Khan will be present along with MVR Van.
Meanwhile, in a unique initiatives by the SVEEP Team Jammu Polling Booth Area Campaign (PBAC) was launched in Jammu East Assembly Constituency from polling stations Dhounthly-A, Dhounthly -B in presence of ARO S.S.Sambyal. The Campaign has specifically been designed for those Polling Stations which had witnessed low Voter Turn Out in last Lok Sabha Elections. The PBAC team comprises of BLO of Polling Station, Aanganwari Worker, Work Supervisor, and NSS Volunteer will conduct door to door campaign and sensitize the households on four aspects. Location of the Polling Station, the date of poll is April 10, 2014, poll time is from 7 am to 6 pm and the importance of Voting and signing of pledge.
