Sidha for linking younger generation to its roots

JAMMU, Nov 23: Maintaining that revival of culture is essential for prosperity and development of society and nation, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, K K Sidha today assured all support to displaced in promotion of their language and culture.
Talking to representatives of Pir Panjal a socio cultural Organisation and Pt. Prem Nath Shastri Sanaskritk Shodh Sansthan here, today, Sidha urged them to redouble their efforts in holding cultural events so that the younger generation among displaced Kashmiri Pandits is linked to their roots and rich as well as age old cultural heritage of Kashmir.
He assured all support and help from his orgnisation in this regard and said Relief Organisation will hold functions to celebrate Shivratri in the camps and non camps for three days and number of socio cultural programmes will be held at different locations.
The delegation was led by Ramesh Hangloo president Pir Panchal and Avtar Jyotshi spokesman of Shodh Sansthan. On the occasion a copy of Vijeshwar Panchang of the year 2023-24 was presented to Sidha.
Sidha said the Panchang has kept our religion alive and also acclaimed Radio Sharda for promotion of culture and language.
On the occasion, Avtar Jyotshi demanded allotment of land to Shodh Sanstha for establishing a Cultural and Research Centre. He said the file in this regard is lying with Government.
Ramesh Hangloo said that his organization is committed to link the younger generation to 5000 year old Kashmiri culture and heritage. He also informed about the steps taken by Pir Panjal in this regard. Hangloo said that his organization is also working for revival of age old culture of Pir Panjal range.
On the occasion a copy of Vijeshwar Panchag was also presented to Sidha by A K Shastri.
