JAMMU, Dec 17: J&K State Industrial Development Corporation added yet another feather to its cap when its team led by Managing Director Amit Sharma successfully attended a three-day Programme on Setting-up Professional Goal-Oriented Targets and Performance at prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad which is the top management institute of the nation.
MD SIDCO Amit Sharma was accompanied by General Manager-cum-Company Secretary of SIDCO Vikram K. Gupta who also actively participated in the programme and shared his perspectives alongwith his Managing Director. The programme was focused on strategic management and latest methodologies to measure performance of organizations, especially Government sector PSUs. One of the senior professors of IIM Ahmedabad, namely Biju Varkkey who has specialized in Personnel and Industrial Relations area and who has been a regular contributor in national policy making, talked at length about implementing Result Framework Document (RFD) as the best tool to evaluate and measure performance of Public Sector Undertakings. As a part of curriculum, other workshops were also held in which lot of case studies from HR perspective, policy making, qualitative/quantitative measures in decision making and various methodologies for forecasting performance-oriented targets for organizations were taken-up.
Both MD SIDCO and GM shared their experiences and perspectives about setting-up professional goals for PSUs which were appreciated across the board. There were other participants from lot of organizations of different States and various Central Government undertakings who also participated in group discussions and workshops. At the conclusion of programme, MD SIDCO and his team were given certificates and mementos before MD Amit Sharma invited IIM Ahmedabad Director Prof Ashish and his team to conduct an expo tour of J&K and conduct some case studies over the industrial units working in the State.
