Srinagar, July 23: J&K State Information Commission has created a Facebook page in the name of “J&K State Information Commission” on experimental basis.
This page would be covering recommended/selected important judgments of the Commission and comments by the users of the Facebook. However, any complaint/appeal etc; filed by the complainants/ appellants under RTI Act will not be entertained if uploaded on Facebook.
For filing such complaints and appeals, procedure has to be adopted as laid down in the RTI Rules, 2012 read with various instructions and directions of the Commission issued from time to time which are on the website of the Commission.
The Commission will not authenticate any information or post which may be uploaded unauthorisedly in the name of Commission on its page. Users are reminded that the J&K State Information Commission is a creation of statute and is a quasi judicial institution having the trappings of court and autonomous status as laid down in Section 12 of the J&K State RTI Act, 2009.
