SI suspended for helping drug peddler

JAMMU, Sept 21: A Sub-Inspector of J&K Police was suspended by IGP Jammu Zone, Danesh Rana for assisting a drug peddler.
According to IGP Jammu Zone, Danesh Rana, during secret enquiry, it was found that one Sub- Inspector namely Nitin Khajuria (PID No EXJ-109496) presently posted in DPL Jammu was in constant touch with one drug smuggler namely Vikram Jaindal alias Viky son of Banarsi Lal Jaindal, a resident of H No 30, Lane No 1, Shiv Nagar, Jammu, who is active drug dealer in Jammu city.
“The drug peddler was bringing the consignment of contraband from Delhi through railway parcel/Courier service and the SI was assisting the drug supplier in clearing the consignment from parcel office at Railway station, Jammu and en-route destination to avoid any sort of checking of the vehicle”, he added.
He further disclosed that the SI used to reach Railway Parcel office in uniform whenever the fresh consignment come and also using the mobile of said drug supplier Vicky to talk with other dealers and was himself selling the contraband items without any fear of being caught.
“During secret enquiry it was found that the said SI was ‘hand-in-glove’ with the drug dealers and suppliers of Jammu city”, the IGP said adding on this count the SI was placed under suspension with immediate effect and the departmental enquiry has been entrusted to DIG Jammu.
