JAMMU, June 19: Shruti Adhikari, a renowned Santoorist from Bhopal today spell bound the audience with her thrilling performance organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in K L Saigal Hall Jammu under the series “Sahre Prauhne”.
Ms Shruti Adhikari hailing from Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, is India’s first lady Santoorist who always makes her relentless endeavour to give away joy and peace as also message of harmony with the hundred stringed instrument Santoor. She has acquired post graduation degree in Indian Classical Music with distinction, Kvid in Sitar with Gold Medal, Prabhakar in Tabla and Vid in Violin.
She has performed in various prestigious concerts and festivals and by way of her wonderful performances she has received high acclaim in India and abroad.
Station Director Radio Kashmir Jammu, V K Sambyal and a renowned classical vocalist was the chief guest while Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was also present on the presidium. Speaking on the occasion V K Sambyal complimented Academy and said a number of innovative programs initiated by Cultural Academy are well appreciated and this series Sahre Prauhne is also achieving popularity. While complimenting today’s program, he further said that the compact performance by Shruti Adhikari enthralled the audience and deserves great applause.
Earlier while welcoming the august gathering Dr Amn highlighted the aims and objectives of holding such type of programs under its series ‘Sahre Prauhne’.
Ms Shruti Adhikari was also felicitated on the occasion. She was accompanied by renowned Tabla player Samual Massih. The proceedings were conducted by Anil Tickoo and vote of thanks presented by Ashok Gupta.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Col J P Singh, Col Karan Singh, Ashok Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Neeraj Kumar, Dharmesh Nargotra, Ravi Sharma, K L Verma, Victor Massih, Lokesh Chander, Deepak Kumar, Sars Bharti, Pooja Devi, Anagha Attri, Neeraj Verma, Esha Balgotra, Sonam, Rohit Sharma, Rumjhum and Arindam besides a galaxy of musicians and intellectuals.
