KATRA, Jan 30: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board organized a day-long on-the-site training programme in Basic Life Support for its employees at Adhkuwari today.
This training programme was organized by the Shrine Board as part of Disaster Management preparedness by building capacities of its employees as medical first responders to provide immediate basic life support by way of applying Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in emergency situations. In all, 42 employees working at Adhkuwari were imparted training in CPR by a medical team headed by Dr Nandita Mehta, who is a Professor and Head of Department, Intensive Care Unit, Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Sidhra, Jammu.
The training programme was organized under the supervision of Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. Amit Vermani and Dr Arvind Karwani, Deputy Chief Executive Officers were among those present on the occasion.
Giving details, the CEO informed that the Shrine Board had organized a similar training programme for its staff at Bhawan on 19th of last month in which 36 employees were imparted training in CPR. He added that as per Disaster Management Plan, the Shrine Board regularly organises Basic and Advance training courses for its employees in the varied aspects of Disaster Management with the help of experts including NDRF, besides conducting regular in-house training through its own Master Trainers.
