JAMMU, Sept 3: Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, Management Trust, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu is celebrating “Shri Krishna Janamashtami” festival with religious fervor and zeal.
This was disclosed by Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and president, Shri Laxmi Narayan Mandir, Management Trust, Gandhi Nagar, while addressing a press conference here today.
He said that elaborate arrangements have been made by the Trust to make the celebrations memorable and the Temple complex has been given a fresh look and is being decorated tastefully befitting to the pious occasion.
Elaborating more, he said, “As part of ‘Shri Krishna Janamashtami’ celebrations, Shri Bhagwat Geeta Saptah has been organized in the Temple from September 2 to 8. It is being conducted by a renowned spiritual saint Shri Ajay Saran Maharaj from 2 pm to 5 pm every day. Hawan will be conducted on September 9 at 9 am.
Charak further revealed that to mark the occasion, a colourful Shobha Yatra carrying the holy idol of Lord Krishna in the decorated Rath would be taken out from the Temple in Gandhi Nagar at 10.30 am on Shri Krishna Janamashtami Day i.e. September 5.
“Before taking out the Shobha Yatra, traditional Pooja will be conducted in the Temple at 10 am and Speaker of J&K Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, will be the chief guest on the occasion”, he said adding the Shobha Yatra will pass through Gole Market—Auquaf Market —Extension Road—Gurudwara Road — Mahadev Mandir, Apsara Road and finally culminate at Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
He said that in the evening a Bhajan Sandhya has been organized where State’s leading artist Jeevan Sharma and party will enthrall the devotees from 7 pm to 10 pm by enchanting Bhajans and religious songs mostly connected with the Lord Krishna and His life.
