Shri Chander Navmi celebrated at ASCOMS

JAMMU, Sept 10: Shri Chander Navmi was celebrated at Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences (ASCOMS) and Hospital, Sidhra, Jammu to commemorate the birth anniversary of Acharya Shri Chander Ji Maharaj, founder of Udasin Sect, with traditional fervor and gaiety.
The occasion is celebrated every year with deep sense of reverence and devotion to Jagat Guru, Acharya Shri Chander Ji Maharaj, son of the great saint, Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. In accordance with the teachings of the Jagat Guru the followers of the sect formed a Society namely Shri Chander Chinar Bada Akhara Udasin Society which had set up this Medical College and Hospital for quality medical education and health care to the people of J&K with the sole aim to spread and promote the teachings of Jagat Guru Acharya Shri Chander Ji Maharaj.
A Havan and Bhandara were also organized. People from all walks of life including the followers of Acharya Shri Chander Ji attended the congregation. The staff, students, paramedical staff and others also attended the Bhandara.
Among the Trustees, HL Maini (vice president), DK Batra (joint secretary) and Dr Gautam Mengi, Member Trustee (Shri Chander Chinar Bada Akhara Udasin Society), participated in the religious ceremonies.
