SRINAGAR, Apr 28: Government has assigned the additional charge of Chief Engineer (CE), Jal Shakti (Public Health Engineering) Kashmir, to Showkat Hussain in the interest of administrative functioning.
According to a Government order issued today, Showkat Hussain, who is presently serving as In-charge Chief Engineer, Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Kashmir, will hold the additional charge of Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti (PHE) Kashmir with effect from May 1, 2026. He will continue to discharge his existing responsibilities alongside the new assignment.
The decision has been taken in view of the impending retirement of Rakesh Kumar Gupta, In-charge Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti (PHE) Kashmir, who is scheduled to retire on April 30, 2026.
