Shops sealed in Udhampur, Doda

UDHAMPUR, June 19: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib conducted  surprise inspection in the vicinity of Udhampur town late night here to take stock of implementation of weekend COVID-19 lockdown measures in the district.
During the extensive inspection, the DC found eight  shops violating the SOPs  in Shiv Nagar,  Devika, Omara Morh, T-Morh,  Sallan Talab,  Mukerjee Bazaar, Bus Stand,  Gole Market, Chabutra Bazaar,  Birma area and ordered to seal them. These shops were found open in the late night hours in violation of the COVIDSoP timings.
The DDMA Udhampur has advised the public as well as shopkeepers to strictly adhere to the SOPs and follow Covid appropriate behavior like wearing face mask, maintain social distancing, washing hands regularly. The DC reiterated that any violation of Government directives will lead to penal action and such surprise visits will continue to ensure discipline in larger public interest.
Meanwhile, acting tough against the violators of ongoing weekend lockdown restrictions amid Covid-19 pandemic, the SDM Gandoh Pritam Lal Thapa and SDM Thathri Athar Amin Zargar today sealed two shops in the limits of their respective sub divisions for violation of restrictions.
At Gandoh a sweets shop-cum-tea stall was found open during the inspection violating the Govt order of weekend lockdown.
Similarly, a chicken shop was sealed after it was found open despite repeated warnings by the respective authorities.
The authorities have also lodged an FIR against the erring trader, offender and sealed the shops.
