Shoolini University starts new courses

JAMMU, July 17: Shoolini University in Solan, Himachal Pradesh today announced a series of new courses this session. It is the first university in this region to launch specialised courses in Yoga.
This was informed by P.K Khosla, Vice Chancellor (VC) Shoolini University.
He said that B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture is a degree of  8 semesters having 60 seats and it prepares students for a wide range of careers in agriculture industry and its ancillary organization.
He further said that B.Sc Hospitality and Hotel Administration has been introduced through National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology JEE or any other recognised entrance test, including Shoolini’s own test.
Prof. Khosla said, through diploma in network engineering, one can go in for an advanced programme for those seeking career advancement in the field of network design and management.
The VC further informed that B.Sc Yoga programme, first in the region, with 60 seats will provides in-depth knowledge to the students about Yoga.
“While B.Sc Yoga will comprise of 6 semesters, M.Sc Yoga will be of 4 semesters. Doctoral programme in Yoga will be a step for advancement of research in yogic sciences in the region,” he maintained.
He said, with the growing need for social media networking, the university has introduced digital journalism course.
“This course will give an insight to the students on how to plan social media strategies, reaching out to the right audience, content management and appropriate graphics/visual support for better impact,” the VC said.
He also said that Disaster Management is another important course which has been added by the university to help in training the students to carry out rescue operations in case of tragedies and natural calamities.
