Shoolini University signs MoU with Chinese University for Yoga programme

JAMMU, Feb 4:  Recognising the demand for Yoga experts internationally, the Vice Chancellor of Shoolini University, Prof P K Khosla has signed a MoU with China’s reputed varsity, Yunnan Minzu University under an exchange-program, which shall commence around the International Yoga Day, on June 21 this year.
The MoU was signed in New Delhi on Thursday where a Shoolini University delegation was led by Prof P K Khosla and also comprised of Pro Vice Chancellor Atul Khosla, Dean (Research and Development) Neeraj Mahindru, and Member of the Governing Body, Saroj Khosla among others.
With an aim to spread India’s traditional knowledge worldwide and introduce the ancient Chinese practice of Tai Chi – a form of martial arts that has profound benefits on one’s mental and physical fitness – Shoolini University shall be sending a five-member delegation headed by Prof  P K  Khosla himself to Yunnan Minzu University.  Under this exchange program, the students from the Chinese varsity shall be studying at Shoolini for one semester.
Shoolini University is the first university in North India to offer a unique job-oriented programme in Yoga that is already in huge demand in the country. The university has also been recently accorded sanction by the Central Government to set up a 100-bed hospital. This hospital is being created to impart knowledge and practices of Yoga Sciences and meditation with the aid of naturopathic medications for health and wellbeing. The facility is inclusive of Yoga centre, bath centre, massage laboratory, diet centre, exercise/acupuncture centre, pathology, meditation hall and herbal garden.
“It is a pleasure to sign the Memorandum of Understanding with one of the most prestigious varsities of China – Yunnan Minzu University. Since both Yoga and Tai Chi are ancient forms of exercise, I am confident that students on both sides of the border shall benefit greatly through this exchange-program,” said Prof. Neeraj Mahindroo, Dean – Research and Development.
Besides the exchange of the faculty and students, the MoU states that academic information and research material shall also be shared between the two universities and there shall also be joint conferences and research programs organized.
