UDHAMPUR, Feb 10: In an apparent case of suicide, a bank employee was found hanging in his house near Dak Bungalow Udhampur, here today.
Reports said that deceased Romesh Kumar (31), son of Hans Raj, resident of Landher in Panchari Block and presently putting up near Dak Bungalow Udhampur, was in shock and mental depression following death of his wife while giving birth to their child only two weeks ago.
He is survived by three children, including two girls of 11, six years old and a two weeks old son.
The deceased was working in the Central Bank of India. According to the locals, he was mentally depressed due to death of his wife while giving birth to their third child.
This morning, he was found hanging from ceiling fan hook at his house. On being informed, a Police party from PS Udhampur rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body to District Hospital Udhampur for the postmortem.
According to unconfirmed reports, the deceased had attempted suicide a few days earlier also after death of his wife. A case has been registered in this connection for further investigation.
