JAMMU, Apr 16: Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj today stated that Shivaji Maharaj, who has been called the ‘father of the Maratha nation’, cherished and promoted the values of personal integrity, religious tolerance, patriotism and public welfare.
Narrating the saga of Chhatrapati Shiva Ji Maharaj on the 8th day, Swami Govind Dev Giri Ji said, “Besides being a great conqueror and diplomat, Shiva Ji was also an enlightened ruler of his people. India is already a world guru and there is no need to make it a world guru, but the world will recognise this only when it’s Army is strong and citizens are prosperous.”
“In today’s time, work cannot be done with money alone, but without money, big tasks come to a halt. This has been experienced by modern-day saints like revered Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna, who themselves have sought donations and carried out the work of human service and nation-building. But when the goal is big, similar means are necessary to fulfil it, and for gathering resources, there is a need for money. Then Patanjali began the endeavour for national service,” he said.
While narrating the saga of Shivaji Maharaj, he paid homage to the valour and bravery of the Maratha King, stating that what seemed almost impossible to everyone, Shivaji Maharaj accomplished that.”
Speaking on the occasion, Yog Guru Swami Ramdev said, “When we look at the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the guardian of Sanatan Dharma, its propagator, and the initiator of national awakening, we see a great personality before us.”
“From the birth of revered Maharaj to his firm determination for the Hindu Empire and his crusade against the Turks, Mughals, and cruel oppressors inspire everyone’s heart. Various aspects of this saga are presenting the revered Maharaj’s entire perspective and efforts in a very logical and practical manner among us,” said Yog Guru Baba Ramdev.
Among others who attended the programme included Padmasen Arya, Chancellor of Patanjali University, Prof. Mahavir Agrawal, Head of Human Welfare Department, Sadhvi Acharya Devapriya, Deputy Chancellor of Acharyakulam, Dr Nirvikar, Aradhna Koul and Dr. Ritambhara, Chief Central Coordinator of Bharat Swabhiman.
