Punjab’s Chhota Saddam lifts 96th Jhajjar Kotli Dangal title

REASI, Apr 16: Wrestler Chota Saddam of Hoshiarpur (Punjab) lifted 96th Jhajjar  Kotli Dangal title 2024 by defeating wrestler Boni of Phagwara in a very tough bout at Jhajjar Kotli, Jammu here today.
Winner of 1st malli main bout Chota Saddam was awarded with cash prize of Rs 55,000 while runner-up wrestler Boni was given cash prize of Rs 45,000.
In the second main battle Muneer of J&K Police of Nagrota defeated Jai Bhagwan of Rohtak. Winner Muneer was awarded with cash prize of Rs 12,000 while runner-up wrestler Jai Bhagwan got Rs 9,000, 3rd bout was won by Surjit of J&K Police Reasi who defeated Billu of Hossiarpur. Winner Surjit Singh was awarded with cash prize Rs 10,000 while runner-up wrestler Billu got Rs 7,000.
The 4th bout was won by Hussian of Domel who defeated Kapil Damma of Delhi. A total of 34 bouts were played and an expenditure of Rs 3 Lakh has been incurred for conducting of this one day long Dangal. 68 wrestlers from Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, UP and J&K-UT participated in this Dangal. Bouts were officiated by Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Raj Singh, Krishan Singh and Mustaq Ahmed.
SHO Jhajjar Kotli Rakesh Singh was the chief Guest on the occasion while Shiv Kumar Sharma, President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association presided over the function. Naib Tehsildar Rashid Mohd and Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri) were the guests of honour.
Dangal was organized by Jhajjar Kotli Kesari Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Durga Dass Thappa (President), Om Parkash Dubey (General Secretary) and Nazir Mohd. Members of Dangal Committee who helped for smooth conducting of historic and famous Dangal.
Other results of the day were Amir Khan of J&K Police defeated Razak of Mallerkotla, Dillar Khan of J&K Police defeated Vicky of Delhi, Madan Singh of Roun Domel Akhara defeated Sharif of Mallerkotla and Vikas of Dera Baba Nanak defeated Fiza of J&K Police Billawar (Kathua). Bout played between Nadeem of J&K Police of Doda and Usman of Mathura (UP) ended in a draw.
