Shiv Sena stages protest, demands abolishment of Toll Tax

JAMMU, Dec 26: Activists of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of their President, Ashok Gupta here today staged a protest demonstration demanding abolishment of Toll Tax at Lakhanpur.
The protesters raised slogans demanding one nation, one tax.
Speaking on the occasion Gupta demanded uninterrupted power supply and more incentives to industries through alternate mechanisms.
“Imposition of Toll Tax on the goods sends message that J&K is not a part of one nation, one tax regime,” he further said adding that the Sales Tax Department is involved in harassment of trade and business community.
He asked Governor, Satya Pal Malik to intervene into the matter.
He also said that grievance or problem with traders should be conveyed to them in polite manner rather than harassing them and traders should be given a little extra time to accommodate the new GST regime.
He hailed the Anti-Corruption Department for its vigilant raiding as Deputy Excise Commissioner was caught red handed taking the bribe.
Geeta, Shankuntla, Raj Kumari, Bodh Raj, Ankur, Dinesh, Bantu, Ajay, Kalu, Ravi and others were also present.
