Shiv Sena protests against Pakistan, blocks NH

SAMBA, Feb 8: Samba unit of Shiv Sena (Bala Sahib Thackery) on the directions of State president of the party Dimpy Kohli held a demonstration against Pakistan and sat on dharna on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway disrupting vehicular traffic for hours .
The protest demonstration was organized under the leadership of Samba unit president, Ramesh Gupta. While addressing the protesters Ramesh Gupta said that in 2017 Pakistan violated ceasefire more than 800 times and few days back four Army jawans including an officer lost their lives in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan army in Rajouri and Poonch.
Ramesh alleged that Pakistan has not been “mending ways” despite repeated warnings at appropriate forums and held the “rogue country responsible for the ongoing mayhem in Kashmir which had left thousands of security personnel injured”.
He said that for more than 140 times Pakistan violated the ceasefire in the month of January alone.
He said Pakistan doesn’t seem to understand the signal given to it by the two surgical strikes. Expressing grief over the death of soldiers, Ramesh expressed his condolences towards their families. He said that without war, over 1,600 personnel were killed in cross-border firing in the last 13 years which, was a serious matter.
